this space with everybody. all of the beautiful courage that it takes to be up here. a lot of energy to the healing circle as well. as a juvenile, i was in juvenile hall and i went through that whole system myself. i have worked with tattoo removal, i went to other development programs. through personal experience and being raised by a single mom and being proud of my dad imprisoned and now pursuing my education, i would say there is not one answer. the answer is that there is not an answer. you have brought about by bringing this conversation forum. it is not just law enforcement perspective, it is not just the community-based perspective, it is not just the research perspective, it is a multi- layered approach. first and foremost, we do have to consider meeting youth where they are act. we are talking about perpetrators of violence or what not or system involved or involved in gangs, we have to meet them where they are at. pain and hurt produces more hurt, right? what is fundamental it is addressing back pain -- addressing that pain. not looking at folks in a punitive way and sayin

here. what is interesting when you have mergers and acquisition particularly in energy this is something that brings positive sentiment to wall street. let's look at freeport-mcmoran. also taking a look at other names that are involved, right? you're looking at, see how they are faring. plains exploration is up 25%. mcmoran exploration up 82%. freeport-mcmoran is buying both of those together. this is $9 billion. this is about oil and gas producers and it will create a natural resources conglomerate. this is a huge, huge move. freeport-mcmoran is a name we always took to when we talk about commodities and things on the move and on a day where oil and gold are to the downside, gold in particular talking about freeport-mcmoran, copper and gold. you can see it is down 14%. that is not unusual to see an acquirer selling off as the two that are being acquired are gaining big-time. this is the action we're seeing in this mining and oil and exploration type deal and this is a big one. certainly scooped up wall street this morning. back to you. melissa: nicole, thanks so much.

lot of energy to trigger any rain just yet but that will likely change especially overnight into tonight. cloudy skies keeping the temperatures fairly mild. 52 degrees in san jose. 55 in san francisco. and 50 degrees in livermore. i think as we head throughout the day today a lot of clouds outside. temperatures fairly mild then rain developing tonight. and then spreading south overnight tonight. showers into tomorrow, as well. so let's look at the storm system. not well organized. a cold front to the north though is going to drop down on the back side of this and that should be enough to get the rain going overnight. but in the meantime a couple of sprinkles out there. the rain returning though this evening in the north bay and spreading to the south through the night. so we'll see if we can time it out. chance of light showers throughout the day today. north of the golden gate bridge . then midnight you will see the cold front slowly working throughout the rest of the bay area to tomorrow morning so a bit of a wet commute early on tomorrow. and then it moves on by. the show

are on the rise and another pulse of energy pointing its way right at northern california. it will be the fourth pulse of heavy wind, rain and snow coming into this area over a five-day period. look at some of the damage out of oakland. a number of homes damaged because of flooding and rains there. roads damaged as well this is widespread, across the bay area, southern parts of oregon, just the infrastructure can't handle this moisture and underwashing some of these roadways. rescues, high water rescues yesterday and over the weekend. you can just imagine when some of these small streams come up and over the roadways, if you're driving through them people get stuck. the crews are brought in to try to get the job done and folks to safety. across napa valley, incredible flooding there. the napa valley seeing some of its worst rainfall in years. look at these numbers. petrolia, california, over 17 inches. bridgeville, 15 inches. that's an incredible amount of rain. to see that much rainfall is truly remarkable. we are seeing more in the way of rainfall across seattle and portland it has stopped for

for energy, is one of an innovative program that has collection bins for commercial fishermen to dispose of unwanted fishing gear. it's disposed more than 700 of obsolete dare elect gear which -- dire elect gear which has lost marketable lobster and saves up to $792 million in damages to boat propelers from direlect fishing gear. if that isn't enough, the energy from them recycles gear. it doesn't cost the fishermen anything to dispose of this gear and that's why it's such a successful program. this small federal investment results in huge cost savings. marine debris is much larger and a growing problem. with disasters in japan last year and the recent storms like sandy, cleaning up debrises requires both resources and coordination between agencies and states. while i commend the bipartisan support and leadership of my colleagues to get this bill to the president, i'm disappointed that the program's authorization has not been extended. i will continue to work for permanent re-authorization of the marine debris program because it is a critical for program development in coastal communitie

north and west because that's where the focus of the jet stream energy is. it's been pushed a little to the north because of high pressure building in off the southern california coastline. so that near miss as opposed it a direct hit with less moisture means you're only going to get some rainfall so it will be slick and tough driving at times tomorrow but it won't be an all-day washout and won't be a concern like over the weekend. now, beyond tomorrow, it's all about high pressure and after a very cloudy pattern over the past several weeks we'll have high pressure building in and we'll have a dry chilly sunny northwest flow of air. we'll have highs only around 60 over the weekend with overnight lows in the 30s but you will get some sunshine. mother nature is going to pay us back. it's been cloudy recently. showers coming from the north and then showers all over the bay area. on-and-off rain throughout the bay area tomorrow. after that dry days begin thursday. tomorrow wednesday over the hump weather-wise too. low 60s. livermore and san jose 63. napa soggy 61. san francisco 61. oakla
